It is a private, international, non-profit organization. ARIAE has extended its circle to the rest of the energy sectors, in accordance with the agreement adopted at the annual ordinary meeting held in May 2000 in Lisbon and, today, it brings together energy regulatory bodies from 19 Ibero-American countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Spain, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Portugal, Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Venezuela, and the Central American market regulator, the Regional Commission for Electrical Interconnection (CRIE). ARIAE is a forum for communication between specialists and professionals from the entities that comprise it, with the aim of promoting the exchange of experiences and sharing knowledge in terms of the regulation of the energy sectors, the training and qualification of personnel at all levels, and its exchange between the partners; as well as promoting cooperation in activities of common interest, including in the fields of research and development. The systematic exchange of information and experiences is basically based on the functioning of the working groups and through the functioning of this website that allows access to information from the Association and the Regulatory Entities that comprise it. Additionally, ARIAE develops and supports the organization of seminars, forums and training courses that reinforce the dissemination of energy knowledge and the regulatory debate, which are compiled in documents or books edited for this purpose.
